AIRC: The Association of International Enrollment Management is a dynamic network of U.S. secondary and post- secondary institutions, service providers, non-U.S. institutions, and student recruitment agencies that are committed to the professionalism of international student recruitment and best practices. Recognized by the U.S. Department of Justice and Federal Trade Commission as a standards development organization (SDO), AIRC is the only membership association exclusively focused on international student enrollment. Educational agencies with international or domestic headquarters may become AIRC members after successfully completing AIRC’s Certification Process. For the purposes of AIRC membership and certification, an education agency is a contracted representative that provides student counseling, recruitment, and/or enrollment services; and receives incentive compensation or commission from institutions for the successful placement of international students. Education agency businesses can include individuals, organizations, companies, or associations.
Institutions include degree-granting secondary or postsecondary institutions holding US regional or national accreditation or (for non-US institutions) the relevant and appropriate comparable recognition.
COST: Institutional member fees varies by size; small institutions (10,000 students or fewer) pay $600 USD per year and large institutions (Over 10,000 students) pay $1,100 USD per year.
For the purposes of AIRC membership, a service provider is a for-profit or non-profit entity that offers products and services that support institutions, students, or companies in their international enrollment management operations. These entities provide services that assist with international student enrollment but do not directly recruit or counsel international students. Service Providers can include individuals, organizations, companies, or associations.
Examples of Service Providers include: Foreign language testing platform, foreign language support or tutoring, financial services platform, international student insurance, peer-to-peer edtech platform, foreign credential evaluator, in-country logistics or tour/fair provider, visa/employment support, technology support, or stand-alone legal/immigration support.
COST: Service Provider annual fees are segmented into three different levels determined by annual revenue. Level I: if annual revenue is > $1 million, pay $2,000 USD per year. Level II: if annual revenue is < $1 million, pay $1,000 USD per year. Level III: if you are a Sole Proprietor, pay $500 USD per year.
Individuals who are unaffiliated with academic institutions, education agencies, or support organizations may join AIRC as an individual member. AIRC individual membership is limited to those who are self-employed or retired, or international education consultants who do not recruit students directly and do not have staff or a consulting team.
COST: Individual membership fees are $400 USD per year.
